PIDHIRTSI GROUP OF SITES: CURRENT STATE AND PROSPECTS OF THE FUTURE RESEARCHES

The paper is devoted to the history and historiography of research Pidhirtsi group sites Upper Middle Dnieper basins Scythian Age. source base includes 131 (82 type 49 Mylohrad culture), which are located within administrative boundaries modern Ukraine. Chronological range defined extending from middle 7th second quarter 4th century BC. territory covers Dnipro, Desna, Horyn Southern Buh border between forest-steppe mixed forests zones.
 majority were explored during fieldwalking survey with prospect trenches. On excavated settlement special openwork bronze adornments identical treasure found. Based on these materials in 1950 V. M. Danylenko singled out sites.
 There four stages — accumulation interpretation. first one (1915—1950s) associated formation base. In stage (1950—1970s) systematic study Lower began. third (1970—1990s) characterized by attempts systematize identified materials. fourth (since 1990s), researchers begin focusing interpretation implement results for reconstructing ethnic cultural situation region Early Iron Age.
